Kissing_2.17.gifDespite the downturn, Web traffic to floral sites and online dating sites tripled, compared to Valentine’s Day last year, according to ScanSafe. While floral sites saw increased page views, traffic to more expensive Valentine’s Day shopping sites, like lingerie retailers, decreased as much as 40%.

1-800-Flowers was up 270% compared to last Valentine’s Day. Match.com and eHarmony.com, increased by 213%, compared to last year.

“We typically see a sharp increase in traffic to popular florist websites over Valentine’s Day, however the enormity of this increase was not expected,” said ScanSafe’s Spencer Parker.
