The Dell Inspiron 11z is NOT a netbook. It looks like a big-ish netbook with its 11-inch LCD display. It has a netbook like weight at 3 pounds. But, it is not a netbook. And, it is not simply because Microsoft licensing has issues with devices with displays larger than 10.1 inches…
More Configuration Options on the Inspiron 11z
Here’s its un-netbook-like features in addition to its $479 starting price:
- Optional dual-core CULV (Consumer Ultra-Low Voltage) Pentium SU4100 processor
- Up to 4GB RAM
- Up to 320GB hard drive capacity
Try as I might, however, I could not select any of these options when I tried to configure an 11z. The $479 base model was all that I could see available to order with a Celeron 723 processor (ho-hum), Windows Vista (yuck), 2GB RAM, 250GB hard drive, and 3-cell battery (too small).
