Dell_Inspiron_Laptops.jpgUniversal Music Group has begun offering “curated” playlists to Dell PC buyers in an effort to help novice downloaders jump-start their digital-music collections, CNET News reports.

Starting at $25, buyers can now choose from selected bundles of 50 or 100 DRM-free songs while building a custom PC on Dell’s Web site. When the PC is put together and shipped, the songs will come preloaded on the computer, ready to play as soon as it’s booted up for the first time.

The Universal tracks are then able to be transferred to any mobile or portable device, since they lack copy protection. Dell has actually been doing this for a while with movies, but this is the first time they’ve done it with music, according to the report.
