A series of service outages around the US over the past couple of weeks doesn’t appear to have caused much of a problem – if any at all – for BlackBerry maker Research in Motion. The Ontario firm today upped its estimates for its fourth fiscal quarter, which ends on March 1.

BlackBerry_Pearl_0221.JPGBack in December, RIM forecast Q4 net subscriber additions at 1.82 million, according to Dow Jones Newswires via Cellular-news.com.

Today’s announcement pushed those estimates up by 15%-20%, or 2.09 million-2.18 million, which would give the company a year-end total of 14 million users.

RIM will announce official Q4 and year-end results on April 2.
