The South by Southwest Interactive conference kicks off today in Austin, TX. If you didn’t get tickets, the internet is the next best place to be for product launches, company announcements, crazy party pics, and memorable quotes. Here’s a curated list of places to follow the action.
SXSW is using TriCaster’s multi-camera production system to bring music showcases, keynote speakers, convergence panels and other live event coverage to one page.
No more guessing which hashtag to follow on Twitter. Social analytics company Topsy has partnered with Mashable on a real-time analysis of the top hashtags, handles, and terms that are trending on Twitter related to the event.
This week, Foursquare will be a whirlwind of barbecue and taco joint check-ins thanks to a number of curated lists and other search tools. If you want to live vicariously through the internet, you can feast your eyes on Austin food and drinks here.
Magisto now reaches 5 million users with its tool for uploading and editing personal videos. The company has invited 18 influencers to chronicle their experiences at SXSW on a dedicated page, which means plenty of different perspectives on the event for the viewers at home.
We’ll be covering the event live from Austin. If you’re not there to say hi in person —and even if you are — feel free to stalk us online. Follow us on @socialtimes or follow reporter Cameron Scott on @concertomates. There will also be plenty of pictures on Flickr and our Pinterest SXSW Board.
P.S. Cameron promises that “lame panel photos” will be kept to a minimum.
