Breaking: WSJ.com reports Disney is acquiring 30% of video site Hulu.com.
Under the terms of the deal Disney will invest a similar amount of capital and marketing funds as founding partners NBC Universal and News Corp.
Full ABC shows are expected to be added to the current Hulu roster soon.
This leaves CBS as the only major television broadcaster not a part of Hulu. CBS Corp. owns the TV.com video site, which aggregates many CBS shows and those of other producers and networks. In February, Hulu.com pulled its content from TV.com.
Launched in March ’08, Hulu surpassed Yahoo last month as the number-three video service on the Web serving up 380 million videos. YouTube continues to dominate the online video market. MySpace is second.
