Enterprising New Yorkers Are Selling Gas on Craigslist

Gas in New York City is scarce in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the superstorm that blew through the city on Monday night, cutting the power and flooding the subway tunnels for several days after the water receded. To profit from the misfortune of others, at least one person has started selling gas on Craigslist.

Take a look at this ad, which has since been removed from the site:

An anonymous tipster from Brooklyn told SocialTimes, “Yep. I paid $15 a gallon. It was worth not having to wait in line and being able to get out of this city, but it’s still so ridiculous.”

Happy trails, Brooklynites.
