Entertainment-based social network GetGlue reached its first publishing partnership, signing on with Entertainment Weekly to team up on a rewards program that offers EW.com readers who check in to items on the site’s Must List using GetGlue to obtain virtual and physical stickers, as well as access to exclusive curated content from the magazine’s editors.

In addition to GetGlue’s first foray into publishing, the initiative marks Entertainment Weekly‘s first social check-in integration.

Entertainment Weekly publisher Jason Wagenheim said:

We’re excited to partner with GetGlue to provide our readers with the opportunity to earn Entertainment Weekly stickers for the first time. The EW.com audience is incredibly engaged and vocal, and since GetGlue features a broad range of entertainment categories, this partnership will allow our users to further celebrate their passion for all things pop culture. It also offers a fun and unique way for GetGlue’s audience to discover our weekly Must List recommendations of the top 10 things we love each week, which is one of EW‘s most popular features.

GetGlue founder and CEO Alex Iskold added:

We are thrilled to have Entertainment Weekly as our first publishing partner, as they truly capture our audience in the entertainment space. Entertainment Weekly is going to reward fans who follow the Must List every week. The check-ins and stickers will provide a perfect mix for fans to stay up to date on the latest trends and to unlock exclusive rewards.
