FireBrandOfTheAmericanLeague.jpgESPN.com launched its SweetSpot Blog Network, which will eventually contain a local-market blog for each of the 30 Major League Baseball franchises, with a charter group representing teams that will participate in the 2009 postseason (the Detroit Tigers visit the Minnesota Twins in a one-game playoff Tuesday, with the winner to take on the New York Yankees in one American League Divisional Series).

ESPN’s SweetSpot blog, written by ESPN.com senior writer and blogger Rob Neyer, will anchor the section.

The local-market blogs for the postseason teams are:
Boston Red Sox: Fire Brand of the American League
Detroit Tigers: Mack Avenue Tigers
Los Angeles Angels: GoHalos.com
Los Angeles Dodgers: Memories of Kevin Malone
Minnesota Twins: Nick’s Twins Blog
New York Yankees: It’s About the Money
Philadelphia Phillies: Crashburn Alley
St. Louis Cardinals: Fungoes.net

ESPNBoston.com will also incorporate Fire Brand of the American League into its playoff coverage.
