Etsy, a sales platform for handcrafted items, launched a new version of its iOS app designed to make it easier for sellers to manage their online shops.
The app allows users to create new listings from their phones. A crafter might make a new project in his or her studio and list it for sale without going home first, Etsy said in a blog post.
“It’s possible to manage an Etsy shop for weeks on end, without ever turning on a computer. We hope this will make it easier for sellers to keep up with holiday demand,” the blog post said.
A full quarter of Etsy’s traffic comes from mobile devices, the company said, and iPhone users convert from looking at a product to buying at twice the rate of the site’s average user.
The updated app also introduces support for more languages, as Etsy works to expand its international user base.
