Movement and surprises were scarce in Experian Hitwise‘s rankings of the most-visited television Web sites for the week ending Oct. 30.
The cable-news chart was topped by Fox News Channel’s The O’Reilly Factor, with the pre-suspension Countdown with Keith Olbermann from MSNBC coming in at No. 2, and MSNBC Live finishing third.
Comedy Central snatched the top two spots on the late-night talk-show list, with The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report. NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno was third.
CBS was the top-ranked broadcast-network Web site, followed by ABC and NBC. ABC’s Dancing with the Stars took top honors on the broadcast-show-site list, trailed by Fox’s Glee, and CBS’ NCIS. The only fast riser in the broadcast top 25 was ABC’s Modern Family (to No. 20 from No. 31).
On the cable side, Comedy Central’s South Park topped the list, with The Daily Show coming in second and the No. 3 spot going to MTV’s Jersey Shore. Fast risers were The Daily Show (2 from 7) and MTV’s 16 and Pregnant (5 from 11).
When combining broadcast and cable, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants assumed its usual No. 1 perch, followed by South Park and The Daily Show. Fast risers were The Daily Show (3 from 21), Bravo’s Top Chef Just Desserts (10 from 39), and 16 and Pregnant (12 from 33).
