Experian Hitwise: MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann Tops Cable-News-Site Charts

MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann was the top-ranked cable-news Web site for the week ending Jan. 15, according to data from Experian Hitwise, trailed by Fox News Channel’s The O’Reilly Factor, and MSNBC Live.

Comedy Central occupied the top two spots on the list of late-night talk-show sites, with The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report. TBS’ Conan placed third.

The morning talk-show rankings were topped by NBC’s Today, followed by ABC’s Good Morning America, and CBS’ The Early Show.

CBS was the top-ranked broadcast-network Web site, with ABC coming in second, and third place going to NBC. ABC’s The Bachelor got the rose and the top ranking on the broadcast-show site list, followed by CBS’ NCIS, and CBS’ Survivor. Fast risers on the broadcast list were Survivor (to No. 3 from No. 26), Fox’s Human Target (11 from 24), ABC’s Private Practice (23 from 33), and ABC’s Off the Map (24 from 48).

It was T-shirt time for MTV’s Jersey Shore, as it claimed first place on the list of cable-show Web sites, followed by BET’s The Game, and Comedy’s South Park. Fast risers were Oxygen’s Bad Girls Club (6 from 21), Countdown (14 from 25), and USA Network’s White Collar (23 from 86).

When combining broadcast and cable networks, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants was first, with Jersey Shore GTLing its way into second, and third place going to The Game. Fast risers were Bad Girls Club (14 from 51) and Survivor (19 from 68).
