Facebook_Music.jpgFacebook’s founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is planning to enter the digital music business after the recent launch of News Corp’s MySpace Music last month, according to Reuters.

“Zuckerberg is talking to a number of song-streaming services and music community sites, including Rhapsody.com, iMeem.com, iLike.com and Lala.com about an outsourcing deal, the New York Post reported, citing sources familiar with the situation.”

The report said that Facebook executives have met with major record labels about the idea. Unnamed sources close to the negotiations have said that Facebook doesn’t want to build a service from scratch or enter into a license sharing, ad-supported streaming agreement the way MySpace did—which leaves a straight MP3-sale store a la iTunes or Amazon MP3 as the likely remaining choice.
