Film crews have descended on Boston’s Charles River to film scenes for The Social Network, the film about the origins of Facebook, featuring the Harvard heavyweight crew team, CNET reported, citing a gossip column in the Boston Globe.
According to CNET, twin brothers Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss, who claimed that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg stole the code and business plan for their project, ConnectU, were members of Harvard’s crew team.
The Globe column added that one of the rowers had red dots painted on his face so that an actor’s face could be superimposed later.
Not all is smooth sailing for The Social Network, however, as Johns Hopkins University said in a release that it will stand in for Harvard during some early November filming, CNET reported.
