Facebook launched a beta version of publisher controls that allow users to refine in detail who gets to view their posts, from a small group of friends to every Facebook user, and those who opt for the latter may see their posts picked up by search engines like Google and Bing, All Facebook reported.
All Facebook’s Nick O’Neill sees the move by Facebook as “a direct attack on Twitter,” as that social-networking service only has options for public and private.
