Have you ever wished your friends were around to give you a second opinion while you were shopping for clothes? Brazilian fashion retailer C&A has found a way to give you a second, hundredth and even thousandth opinion with a social campaign they are calling Fashion Like.
C&A has hung certain articles of clothing on interactive hangers that display the number of Facebook likes the clothes have gotten in real time, so you can feel confident in your decision to purchase that jacket or dress (after all, thousands of Facebookers like it just as much as you do!).
C&A put together the following video showing how the campaign works. It’s in Portuguese so make sure to click the ‘CC’ button on the player to turn English captions on.
C&A isn’t the first fashion retailer to offer a social in-store campaign (and they certainly won’t be the last). Back in 2010, Diesel got a lot of attention for bringing Facebook to the fitting room, letting shoppers take pictures of themselves in clothes they are trying on and post them to Facebook to ask their friends for advice.
Would the number of Facebook likes on an article of clothing have any effect on your likelihood of purchasing that article of clothing? What do you think of C&A’s Fashion Like campaign? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
