Facebook page administrators will now be able to create and distribute ads for their entire pages, not just their posts.

As our sibling blog InsideFacebook reported earlier today, the new feature could potentially help companies get more likes.

Liking yourself is a little uncool, but this sample ad on the left shows off the size and placement (on Facebook, it’ll actually be on the right) of Facebook’s page advertisements.

Administrators can target their ads by location, age, gender, interest, connections, and friends of connections.

The ads can be altered to run in a specified timeframe or will run indefinitely until the administrator turns them off. Facebook charges account holders per like until they reach their maximum daily or lifetime budgets.
