Financial Times Now Accepting PayPal

FinancialTimesLogo.jpgAs originally announced in March, Financial Times is now accepting PayPal as a payment option for users who want to subscribe to its FT.com Web site.

PayPal can also be used for FT‘s new FT Press Cuttings tool, which launches Thursday. FT Press Cuttings allows users such as public-relations professionals to email full-text articles at £1 ($1.58) per recipient. Links can still be sent free-of-charge.

PayPal offers a very good experience for FT customers looking to subscribe to FT.com. We are always looking for ways to reduce barriers to subscription, and PayPal couldn’t be more straightforward to use. It sits nicely alongside all of the major credit-card options we already have in place.

PayPal U.K. managing director Carl Scheible added:

We’re delighted to be working with Financial Times, the pioneer of paid-for online-media content in Britain. PayPal is investing heavily in new payment solutions for media publishers, building on our existing experience in digital goods. FT has shown that businesses and individuals are willing to pay for online content. Our aim is to help increase sales through an even faster customer experience.
