MyFox_1.23.bmpWebNewser has learned Andrew Finlayson, news director at FOX station WFLD in Chicago, is leaving that post to be director of online content and business development for the Fox TV stations group. He’ll report to Ron Stitt, VP of digital media.

News Corp. owns 27 television stations throughout the country, each has its own Website branded MyFox (myfoxla.com, myfoxny.com, myfoxchicago.com, etc.). The MyFox branding came about after News Corp. acquired MySpace in July, 2005 and has extended to more than 60 Fox stations and affiliates.

Replacing Finlayson at WFLD is Carol Fowler who was let go as VP/news director of CBS’s WBBM-TV in November. Fowler starts at WFLD Monday, Feb. 2.
