As those of us in the U.S. prepare for the three day Memorial Day weekend, you may notice a lot more activity in Apple’s top charts for paid and free apps. The reason is that many app vendors have either lowered prices for their apps or even made them free for part of or all of the long weekend.
Plants vs. Zombies HD for the iPad, for example, is on sale for $1.99 (normally $6.99). The popular third party Facebook app for the iPad, MyPad+ for Facebook, is 99 cents (50% discount). And, Tower Madness for the iPhone and Tower Madness HD for the iPad are both free! “Scene It? Movies 2 HD” (normally 99 cents) is also free during the Memorial Day weekend. Even “serious” apps have price drops. One that does not say the drop is because of the holiday weekend but went from $14.99 to free is Pocket Manager – Accounting & Finance course.
If you own an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, you definitely want to fire up iTunes and see what kind of deals you can find for the long weekend.
