Foodbuzz, Bloggers to Aid Greater New Orleans Foundation

FoodbuzzLogo.gifFoodbuzz is embracing a cause that is dear to the heart of CEO Ben Dehan, who grew up in Louisiana.

The online food community chooses 24 bloggers each month to host a meal and blog about it, granting each chosen blogger stipends of $250. However, rather than the stipends, Foodbuzz is asking each blogger chosen for this month to host a Gulf of Mexico-inspired meal and/or party Saturday, July 24, with the $250 being donated in their names to the Greater New Orleans Foundation.

UPDATED 7/20 2:15 p.m. ET:The initiative is not being limited to 24 bloggers, however: Foodbuzz will donate $25 in the name of up to 100 other bloggers who host Gulf-related events, granting them the title “Gulf Ambassador.”

The GNOF will give 100 percent of the money donated to the fishermen and their families affected by the BP spill in the following parishes: Plaquemines, St. Bernard, Lower Jefferson, Terrebonne, and Lafourche.

Foodbuzz has exclusive partnerships with more than 3,500 food bloggers.
