Foodini is a 3D printer, but unlike other 3D printers that rely on weird tubes of processed materials, Foodini promises to help you use fresh ingredients. Why? Because someone, some day, may want a custom dinosaur chocolate cake – or something like that.
Don’t get me wrong – I love food and dinosaurs, but it just seems pretty frivolous for daily use.
Naturally, I want one. As a food blogger and designer, I like my foods a bit more pampered, designed, and not at all easy. This device is perfect for me. However, I would use it, at most, just once a week. Unless I am making dishes using the same 3D files repeatedly, there’s going to be a lot of work prepping and testing each recipe. Let’s face it, if you have a 3D printer, it’s all about experimenting, not making mac and cheese or beans and rice, which are more ideal things to cook and eat.
In other words, if you want to spend a lot of time making shapes and creating scenes out of your edibles – this machine is perfect.
