Former CBS News Correspondent Kelly Wallace Joins iVillage

iVillageKellyWallace.jpgKelly Wallace is leaving the small screen for the really small screen, as the former news correspondent for CBS News was named chief correspondent for NBC Universal-owned women’s-targeted Web portal iVillage.

In her new role, she will oversee, host and executive-produce original digital-video content for iVillage, including hosting micro-series iVillage Five, which will cover five top headline news issues of importance to women, from topics including pregnancy and parenting, finance, and health. iVillage Five will debut Aug. 19 and run for six consecutive Thursdays.

Wallace will also anchor news events across the iVillage platform, including digital town halls, and she will serve as a correspondent for Women at NBCU, reporting on female consumer trends.

Wallace spent 2007-10 with CBS News, contributing to CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, The Early Show, and CBSNews.com, and serving as a substitute anchor for Weekend Evening News. She also has experience with CNN, Fox News Channel, and Plum.

iVillage executive vice president Jodi Kahn said:

Kelly is a highly respected and leading journalist who can draw from both her personal and professional experiences to delve into real stories from women’s point-of-view. This is an amazing opportunity to engage today’s busy woman who is living her life online and relying on the Web for news and information relevant to her lifestyle.

And Wallace added:

I am excited to be joining such a powerful women’s digital brand as iVillage. It is the ideal platform to share “real” stories that are at the forefront for women, from how to save for your child’s education to being a first-time working mom.
