ShortTail Media, an ad network that allows publishers to add pre-roll video advertising of varying lengths to their pages, is now out of beta, with clients including EW.com, iVillage, The Huffington Post, The Business Insider, Men’s Health and Six Apart and advertisers including Best Buy, Ubisoft, AstraZeneca and Siemens.

The start-up is being run by former CNN.com head David Payne, who spoke with Beet.TV executive producer Andy Plesser about the solution that he sees as the “Holy Grail” of digital media.
