Former Facebook Exec Launches Word Processing App Quip

Facebook’s former chief technology officer Bret Taylor has created a new word processing app called Quip.

It’s a great tool for writers and editors to collaborate. The app lets users work on collaborative documents writing and editing the same shared document. Users can comment on sections and track changes, as well as chat with their collaborator. You can create multiple documents as well, so if you are working on a book, you can create a folder for each chapter. Magazine journalists can save a folder for each section of the publication. The free app works offline as well.

The app is currently available for iOS but will soon include an Android app. Then it will be multiplatform, so if one user is on an iPad and another is on a Nexus 7, it’s no problem. (Via TechCrunch).
