Foursquare has begun prompting desktop users to select which photos of a venue are most helpful. Displayed under the map on venue landing pages are a number of photos, with the invitation to “Click a photo to help us show people on Foursquare the best photos.”
Some photos of a venue give the user a real feel for what the spot is like — its size or decor, for example — while others show unknown patrons or, in the first venue SocialTimes checked out this morning, blinding white light coming through a generic glass door.
As it endeavors to leverage itself as a local business search, Foursquare has adopted a feature long available to Yelp desktop users.
The voting feature doesn’t appear to be available in Foursquare’s mobile apps.
