Foursquare Launches Halloween Badges

Foursquare launched on Friday badges that users earn by making holiday-related check-ins.

Users who include “Happy Halloween” in the text of a check-in will get a pumpkin badge. The location-based social network promised users who check in with more than 10 other people “an extra treat.” Users can only check in with other users.

There’s a separate badge — an alarm clock with a spider web on it — for those who trick and treat and check in on Halloween proper, instead of over the weekend.

Most of Foursquare‘s badges are pegged to particular locations, but the location service also offers activity badges such as for biking and running.
