Fox Cancels Reality…Channel

It’s been real, but the channel that gave us Rob and Amber: Against the Odds and Househusbands of Hollywood is shutting down for good on March 31.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Fox Reality Channel staffers were told Wednesday of the decision to cease broadcasting:

“With the changing cable landscape, we’ve made a strategic decision to shift some resources and refocus on emerging channels,” the company said. “However, Fox Reality Channel will remain on our lineup for at least the next several months.”

I just hope this means American Idol Extra is still on when Season 9 begins in January. To watch the seventh-place finisher from Season 5 interview the latest eliminated contestants about their shattered hopes and dreams…well, television doesn’t get any better.
