Fox Television Stations (FTS) and Redlasso have entered into an agreement that gives the online broadcast media center the rights to syndicate content from the group’s local television news programs, announced Ron Stitt, Vice President of Digital Media, FTS and Al McGowan, CEO, Redlasso.

In making the announcement, Stitt stated, “Distribution opportunities that enable users to encounter video from our stations in the course of their normal Web browsing patterns is a vital part of our online strategy. We’re happy to be working with Redlasso as their proven technology includes features that satisfy our needs as producers of premium, branded content.”

Starting in April 2009, content from the Fox owned-and-operated stations will be made available to bloggers and news oriented Web sites directly on www.redlasso.com. Registered users will be able to search content and create their own customized clips to use and embed within their blogs or Web-based articles using the Redlasso online editing tools.

McGowan added, “We are thrilled to announce that FOX, one of the nation’s largest and most prominent media corporations, has recognized the overwhelming acceptance of our platform among the blogging community. This is exactly what we envisioned when we created Redlasso. We look forward to developing similar relationships with other media companies seeking new value for their content.”
