Demand Studios executive vice president Steven Kydd told Beet.TV executive producer Andy Plesser Demand Media, its creator of instructional online text and video content, has about 150,000 assignments on backlog for its network of 7,000 free-lance writers, adding that free-lancers being paid twice weekly and some qualifying for health insurance offsets the relatively low return per assignment — as little as $30 for an original video clip.
