I realize I’m in the minority of people not looking forward to seeing more Flash based mobile apps. But, I must admit I found this news item in ReadWriteWeb interesting…
Adobe: Mobile Flash to Get Accelerometer, Multi-touch Support Early Next Year
So, here’s the main points I gathered from the article/announcement:
- Full Flash for mobile phones beta by the end of 2009
- Support for full device capabilities important to the user experience
- The acceleromter and multi-touch support was inferred by analyst James Governor. It was not directly announced by Adobe
- Demos for analysts were all performed on Android smartphones
- No word on Flash for Apple’s iPhone
So, Adobe will probably support some of the more interesting features that have become more common in the past two years like motion sensing (acceleromter) and multi-touch. But, Adobe didn’t actually say that during the presentation.
