MyLifetimeProjectRunway.jpgThe sixth season of Project Runway premieres on Lifetime Television Thursday night and, for the first time, full episodes of the fashion-design reality competition will be streamed on-demand on MyLifetime.com after debuting on the cable network, according to paidContent.

Lifetime will make episodes available for streaming Saturday mornings, after they premiere Thursday night and encore Friday night, according to paidContent. The episodes will be released for on-demand viewing simultaneously to MyLifetime.com and cable operators for their video-on-demand services.

Project Runway will only be available online on MyLifetime.com, and the show will not be available for downloading or on a season-pass basis via iTunes.

According to paidContent, when Project Runway aired on Bravo, NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker included it on a list of series that were not to be made available in full-episode form online, but the show moved from Bravo to Lifetime following a dispute between producer The Weinstein Co. and NBCU.

Lifetime executive vice president of digital media and business development Dan Suratt told paidContent:

I think what it really goes to is that we firmly believe in the power of our site to drive people to our channel, and that’s what we use it for. If we felt in any way that it was not reinforcing the ratings, it would be a different conversation. What can we do to make sure this product is as well received as it was historically? We have the ability to make that available, to create that awareness.
