In response to Facebook’s new Facebook Stories feature, Twitter has launched a new page called Twitter tales, where the microblogging service asks users to submit interesting stories that involve Twitter. While the Facebook Stories feature was more of a celebration of 500 million users for Facebook, Twitter Tales could probably play a big role in addressing the confusion that new users feel about Twitter. Read more about Twitter Tales after the jump.
At their own Chirp conference earlier this year, Twitter made the statement that they wanted to make it easier for new Twitter users to understand what to do, and why Twitter might be useful to them. I actually think that something like Twitter Tales could definitely do the trick, because a good story inspires people like nothing else. People may not understand that Twitter could be used well to complement their blog, but after they read the “@thebloggess” Twitter Tale, they will see how a blogger was coerced by her friends into using the service, and how it ended up being a ton of fun.
Currently, there are only three stories available on the service, but undoubtedly that number will increase, and if you’re interested, head over there and submit your interesting Twitter Tale, and let us know if you get featured!
