Game On! Foursquare Hackathon Returns this Weekend

Hurricane Sandy did more to New Yorkers than rattle their windows and flood their basements: the team at Foursquare had to postpone the hackathon they had planned for November.

The event has since been rescheduled for Saturday, January 5 at Foursquare headquarters in both New York and San Francisco.  According to Foursquare, there are still some seats left.

Participants in other cities can also form their own meetups.

The team has a wishlist of improvements for developers to make using the Foursquare API, like a “Look up!” app that tells you what flights are overhead when you check in.

For their efforts, participants could earn some strangely wonderful prizes, like ringing the NASDAQ closing bell or free tickets to this year’s SXSW event in Austin, TX.

To RSVP, go to Foursquare’s Meetup page. For more details, check out the pages for the schedule and the rules.
