Buzzd, a hybrid location-based mobile city guide/social network, is buzzing that now has more than 1.2 million venues across the US in its database. Not bad for a company that just launched four months ago.
About 120,000 of the venues were added to the buzzd network by members of the buzzd community; buzzd verifies all user submissions before adding them to the community to avoid duplication.
Out-and-about consumers in pretty much any major metro area can use the site to find out what’s going on around them; read reviews of local venues; find addresses, locations and prices; check how other members rated an event or attraction and learn other handy details.
The free service has content partnerships with CitySearch, Flavorpill, TimeOut New York and Zagat and has additional local partnership deals in the works.
