iPad owners can now GetGlue, as the entertainment-based social network released its app for the Apple tablet, along with announcing exclusive awards from showbiz partners Fox, HBO, Showtime, PBS, and Universal Pictures.

GetGlue allows users to check in to shows, music, movies, and books they are consuming, earning points and stickers, as well as to rate their favorites and receive suggestions. The iPad app adds the ability to share check-ins via Twitter and Facebook; see friends’ check-ins; and view favorites on the go.

Media companies and their respective properties being promoted via GetGlue include: Fox (Glee, Bones, and new series Raising Hope and Lone Star), HBO (Boardwalk Empire, Eastbound and Down), Showtime (Weeds, The Big C, Dexter), PBS (NOVA, Nature, POV, Charlie Rose, American Experience, Masterpiece, and miniseries The Tenth Inning, God in America, Circus, and Michael Feinstein American Song Book), Universal Pictures (Scott Pilgrim, Catfish, Devil), and Web-video network TWiT.
