Glympse Gets $7.5 Million in Funding: Limited Time Location Sharing is a Hit

Frank McPherson had very positive comments about Glympse running on Android and Windows Phone devices earlier this month.

Glympse Location Sharing App Now Available For Windows Phone

His opinion appears to be shared by a number of people including investors who put in $7.5 million in a Series B round to Glympse. Glympse CEO Bryan Trussel said: Our plans for new products and features will strengthen our mission to provide a simple and sleek way for our growing user base to share location

Glympse provides a simple and useful way to share your location for a limited time. You can send a message from Glympse to someone else using email or text messaging. This results in a short text message (e.g., I will be here for another 30 minutes) and a link to a web map (Google Maps) with your location. Neither the sender nor the recepient needs a Glympse account. Like Frank, I’ve found a lot to like in Glympse’s simplicity and usefulness.
