Here’s very good news for GoodReader (iPad/iPhone) users: USB file transfer is coming back!

GoodReader is a document viewer for the iPhone (iPod touch) and iPad. At one time iPhone apps were syncing files between the iPhone and a desktop computer using USB sync. However, Apple asked developers to remove this feature because it was being done in violation of the rules associated with the iPhone SDK (software development kit).

Good.iWare, has, however created a new file transfer technique that they say does not violate Apple’s SDK rules. GoodReaderUSB is a desktop app available for Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS X that works with GoodReader on an iPhone or iPad. The desktop app is free and will be available for download from:

It will enable transfering not only files but entire folders between a desktop computer and an iPad or iPhone with GoodReader (99 cents) installed.
