To say that Google is a popular mobile search tool is like saying that iTunes is a popular music download store. In other words, a vast understatement.
According to a new study from Nielsen Mobile, Google had 61% of the mobile search market in Q1. Microhoo held the second and third slots, with Yahoo at 18% and MSN at 5%.
A Fierce Wireless report on the survey notes that Google gets a huge boost in market share from being the default search on the iPhone. iPhone users do more Web searching than the average mobile consumer. Google has found that the iPhone generates 50 times more searches than any other handset.
