Google announced a number of important changes to the Google+ social network service. The most important is that Google+ is now open to everyone. An invitation is not necessary to join the service. There were also two big changes for the Google+ mobile experience.

First, Huddle was renamed to the more generic Messenger. Huddle is a mobile-only Google+ aspect available in the Android and iPhone Google+ apps. It provides a group messaging service. Second, the Google+ Hangouts group video chat feature is now available for Android phones which have a front-facing camera and runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) or newer. The Google+ for Android 1.0.7 update reflects these changes. Android phones without a front-facing camera cannot join a Hangout.
