Google+ for iPhone App Update Lets it Install & Run on iPad & iPod touch

Google+ for iPhone saw a minor point update that has major implications for iPad and iPod touch users. The initial Google+ releases would not even install on an iPad or iPod touch. And, while the 1.0.2.1966 release is not a universal release, it does all the Google+ to install and work on the iPad and iPod touch.

Since the updated app is not a universal app, it is still scaled for the iPhone’s display size. The screenshot here shows the noticable pixelation seen when the app is used in 2x mode to have the app fill the iPad’s display. The app itself is fully functional on an iPad. This includes the ability to take using an iPad 2′s camera and sharing it.

One much needed change is not available in this update: The app still does not work in landscape mode. A landscape mode view would make it a lot easier for some of us to type stream updates.
