Google Goggles 1.6 for Android: ID Things in Every Photo Taken

If you have an Android phone, there is an interesting twist to the Google Goggles 1.6 update. There is an option to have it invoked for every photo. If Goggles is able to identify something in the photo, it notifies you of the result.

Your smartphone camera is now smarter with Goggles 1.6

The kind of things Goggles can identify includes landmarks and paintings. It does not, however, do so well with animals, plants, cars and furniture. This seems like a particularly useful feature when traveling. The feature can be toggle on and off from Goggles Settings. There are also options to search only when on an WiFi network and to disable the feature when roaming on a data network.
