Google Improves Tablet Search

Google has made changes to the layout of the search results pages when running Google searches on an iPad or Android 3.x tablet. The layout changes include more whitespace, larger fonts, and larger buttons to make the content easier to read and manipulate on a touchscreen.

The search button now provides quick access to the different search types; Images, Videos, Places, or Shopping. Image search results now have larger picture previews and continuous scroll, along with faster loading of the previews.

The changes to the search result pages are being rolled out over the next several days across 36 languages. As of this evening the changes were not visible on my iPad.
