Google Play ‘Movies & TV’ Arrives on iOS

Google Movies AppGoogle released a Movies & TV app for iOS Wednesday, offering Android fans a new way to watch their content on an Apple device.

The Google Play Movies & TV app lets users watch and peruse movies and TV shows they’ve already purchased or rented via Google Play. You cannot, however, make new purchases through the app. Using Google’s Chromecast device, though, will let users stream Google Play content directly from their iPad or iPhone to the TV.

Some early limitations of the app: TV shows are available for the U.S., Japan and United Kingdom only. Streaming is available over Wi-Fi only.

The Google Play Music app joined iOS in November last year, and Google Play Books several years prior.
