Google-Plus
Last week, we looked at the fastest-growing Google+ pages using Mediabistro’s research tool, GPlusData. This week, we bring you the pages that have the most followers. While science dominated the fastest-growing pages, the top followed brands are pretty diverse in terms of subject matter. However, soccer (I mean football, for our European readers) had a good showing.

This list does not include the G+ pages for Google’s own properties. The top three followed pages on the social network were YouTube, Google Art Project and Android. Google Chrome, Google+ and Google Cultural Institute rank among the top 20.

National Geographic was the only Google+ page to be included in both lists. It’s still the fastest-growing G+ page, and has the fifth highest follower count.

Here are the runners up, who just missed being included in the chart:

  • TIME
  • ESPN
  • Chelsea Football Club
  • Team Coco
  • Real Madrid C.F.

Now without further ado, your top followed Google+ pages:

(Note: This chart does not include the pages of Google’s own properties.)
(Note 2: At the time of this writing, there seems to be a bug with Hugh Jackman’s +1 count)
