Google Previews Android OS 3.0 (Honeycomb) – Designed for Tablets

I still don’t understand why hardware manufacturers say that Androdi OS 2.x is not suitable for tablets. However, Google previewed Android OS 3.0 (Honeycomb) in Las Vegas as CES this week. And, tier-one firms like Motorola announced the Honeycomb based tablets that will be available someday after Android OS 3.0 is actually available (2.3 was just released a few months ago and most Android devices are NOT shipping with it yet).

Google posted a wordless video preview of Android OS 3.0. While it does look snazzier than OS 2.x and states it was specifically designed for tablets, I’m still unconvinced that OS 2.x is unsuitable for tablets. That said, I’m waiting for Moto’s XOOM or something like it before I buy an Android tablet myself.
