Google’s Chromecast Lands HBO Go

Hello Game of Thrones! The HBO Go app will now support Google’s Chromecast device that allows you to stream video and other content to the TV from your mobile device or browser. HBO Go will support Chromecast on iOS, Android and web apps. Updates were available Thursday in Google Play and the App Store.

HBO Go lets cable subscribers watch the premium channel’s content on-demand and “on the go.”

The update also allows HBO Go users to “cast” content from Hbogo.com to their TV via Google’s Chrome browser.

Chromecast launched in July with Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Movies, TV and Music–and the promise of more apps to come. It now includes Pandora and Hulu Plus, too. The small, $35 device simply plugs into an HDTV.

Users must first authenticate their cable subscription before using HBO Go. The premium cable app is already available on Chromecast competitors Roku and Apple TV.
