Got a Year? Yahoo! Seeks Contract Managing Editor

Ready to step up your game? Yahoo! is looking for a managing editor to work from its Sunnyvale, Calif. office. The opening is a contract position, which we know isn’t ideal for everyone, but it’s for 12 months, so you would be good for at least a year. Show ‘em what you’ve got and you could be looking at a permanent gig.

The managing editor will work with the editorial director to oversee a variety of projects, including channel launches, new experiences and the editorial direction of Yahoo! Real Estate. He or she should be comfortable leading meetings with staff and partners, and managing a small team of content producers and bloggers. This isn’t a writing position, so if you’re looking to have your byline shine, you might want to pass on this one.

The ideal candidate will have five years of editorial experience with a minimum of three years online. Needless to say, you should be a sharp editor, have a wealth of ideas and be okay with juggling a lot on your plate. Experience with real estate content and the capacity to mentor others is a big plus. Interested? Apply here.
