Rich media mobile ad network Greystripe has secured $5.5 million in Series C funding. Prior investor Incubic Venture Capital led the round that also included Steamboat Ventures and Monitor Ventures.
Greystripe is looking to further the reach of mobile advertising by integrating its mobile inventory into more traditional online advertising. By enabling this integration, ad agencies and marketers would be able to add mobile advertising to a campaign with just a few clicks. Also, Greystripe’s Flash-like ad formats for the iPhone allows even the more intricate online ads to translate to mobile.
The company, whose network includes more than 900 ad-supported games and applications and over 120 distribution partners, had delivered more than 180 million game and application downloads. Its extensive advertiser roster includes such major brands as Axe/Unilever, Burger King, Paramount Pictures and Hewlett-Packard.
