Hands-On Mixes Art with Wallpaper

Mobile apps developer Hands-On Mobile has come out with a new SMS service that lets artists sell their original creations as mobile wallpapers.

The new service, called mixtART, will be available through most carriers across the US. MixtART will debut at ComiCon in San Diego, July 24-27, with the participating artists unveiling new works of art that will be made available through the service.

Artists selling their works through mixtART include Patrick Ma, Buff Monster, Jon Burgerman, Brent McHugh, Patricio Oliver, Alex Pardee, Ekundayo and Dave Correia, Noferin and Astro.

mixtART will officially launch this fall, but preview wallpapers from these artists are available this week. Each wallpaper sells for $1.99.
